This time I really, really, really mean it!

At first, I thought this was a joke from the Onion or something. But as far as I can tell this is an actual news report from NBC, and yes Obama actually said this (emphasis mine):
President Barack Obama condemned the violence in Ukraine on Wednesday, saying that the U.S. holds the government “primarily responsible for ensuring they are handling protesters peacefully” and that “there will be consequences if people step over the line.”
“We expect the Ukrainian government to show restraint, to not resort to violence,” Obama said after arriving in Mexico for a brief trade summit. “We expect peaceful protesters to remain peaceful.”
Even after getting his butt handed to him by Putin over the Syrian debacle, you'd think Obama’s would learn something about how foreign policy is supposed to work. Unlike when you are campaigning and say just about anything you want knowing that the mainstream media will never ever call you out. on the world stage, oddly enough, words actually do matter especially when they are spoken by the leader of the free world.

But I guess when your entire experience is derived from your days as a plucky community organizer you don't get a chance to deal with those darn foreigners.

I mean think about it for a second. Even if Putin decides to send the Russian army roaring into Kiev with tanks and Migs, does anyone in the world, other than Jay Carney, believe Obama would do little more than wag his finger and send a stern letter to Putin?

On the other hand, at least Obama is giving Putin a laugh after the Rooskies’ hockey team failed to get a medal.

Which reminds me, the countdown to Putin taking care of the Ukraine problem (Obama and his red line notwithstanding) I assume will coincide with the closing ceremonies at the Olympics in Sochi.
