This Just In: Obama Hates the Military

This nugget was tucked into the President's, um, 'budget' he proposed last week.

The Obama administration's proposed defense budget calls for military families and retirees to pay sharply more for their healthcare, while leaving unionized civilian defense workers' benefits untouched. The proposal is causing a major rift within the Pentagon, according to U.S. officials.

A major rift within the pentagon? What about in every household in America that directly benefits from the unbelievable work these folks do 24/7?. One of the few things my tax dollars go toward that I care deeply about is our men and women in uniform. These HEROES put themselves in harm's way and get paid basically squat! The very least we could do is ensure that they and their families have access to the best medical care we can provide.

Now you might ask yourself why Obama would pick this fight. Well my guess is this move is designed to increase the enrollment in Obamacare's (universally hated and surely unconstitutional) state-run insurance exchanges. Just a guess tho.

So how much more will our men and women in uniform have to pay?

Significantly, the plan calls for increases between 30 percent to 78 percent in Tricare annual premiums for the first year. After that, the plan will impose five-year increases ranging from 94 percent to 345 percent—more than 3 times current levels.

According to congressional assessments, a retired Army colonel with a family currently paying $460 a year for health care will pay $2,048.

Wow almost 5 times current levels! Let me ask you a question. If your auto insurer decided to pull this kind of rate increase what would you do? Fire them and look for another provider. But here's the kicker, these folks can't do that. They are trapped by the fact that they are government employees and they get what they get.

Secondarily, (and certainly not by accident) you will notice that the precious DOD unionized civilian workers were spared this expense. Gee I wonder why?

Well Obama did promise the most transparent administration in history. This moves is proof positive that he detests the United States Military. Well done Barry!
